encrypting existing files (google drive)

This is probably a stupid question since I read the information about how to encrypt already existing files. But I don't find the context menu and the "right mouse klick" on my antique macbook. Thus, how can I encrypt existing files on google drive?
I'm not computerminded at all, therefore I need a rather detailed step-for-step guide through my problem. Sorry for that stupid question...

I found how to encrypt existing files. But it doesn't work since the "documents" are links to the documents on google drive. All with a gdoc extension. How can I encrypt existing files which are written in gdoc?
