Boxcryptor with Dropbox Impacting Hard Drive Storage Management

I am using Boxcryptor to encrypt my Dropbox files. I set Dropbox to store most of the files in Cloud Only, but according to Dropbox Support, Boxcryptor is messing with the computer's ability to properly manage the storage information of the files. As a result, it's showing that my Hard Drive is almost full - but it shouldn't be because the files should all be in the Cloud.
I haven't paid for a plan yet, because I want to make sure that Boxcryptor works properly with Dropbox first.
I'm using a Macbook Pro running the latest software - macOS Catalina version 10.15.1. The HD is a 250 GB SSD.
