1 PC | 2 Users | 1 Boxcrypt USB Drive ???

Hi again.

Sorry, but for me it is all not really easy to understand. The WIN-Multiuser things make me crazzy.

I have 1 USB Drive (400GB). This is my Boxcrypt Location with "X". And for 1 User... ALL WORKS FINE :-).

In the Settings I activated "other users…".

Loging in WIN10 with my wifes account, BOXCRYPTS says, that I have to choose another Name, because "X" is already used. If I take "Y", she still sees my "X"-Drive and her "Y" Drive. And in my account I can now see her "Y" drive…. Does that make sense?

Please, who can help me?

If you have two people using 1 pc I recommend to use the default settings and start a new instance of Boxcryptor when the user logs in. The option you mentioned was never intended to be used in this scenario.

By default the Boxcryptor drive is only visible for the Windows user account who started Boxcryptor.
Even if there is just one person there usually is more then one active account. For example some applications are run by the user "system" in the background.

To allow those applications to access the data in the Boxcryptor drive you have to activate this option.

If your intention was sharing files with your wife I recommend reading the 4th point in our "best practice" blog post or our help pages.
