Can not figure out how to encrypt copied folder on my new laptop

Good morning all,

Bought a new laptop and copied the encrypted folder to my new laptop.

I have tried for several hours but can not figure out how to encrypt the folder.

Any pointers how to solve this are very welcome.

Hi,

Boxcryptor will not encrypt the whole location. It will only encrypt files or folders within it.
Instead of adding the folder itself add the parent folder. The usual setup would be adding an synchronized folder like your OneDrive folder as a location and creating an encrypted folder in there.
For example W:\OneDrive\encrypted or W:\Documents\encrypted

Thanks for your help. The folder I selected in the screenshot is a onedrive sub-folder. But Boxcryptor does not de-crypt.

I am afraid I lost all my files.

Perhaps Boxcryptor does not support de-crypting older backed up files ?

Have you tried opening the files in your Boxcryptor drive? You can see the encrypted files as usual in your OneDrive but you can only open them in the Boxcryptor Drive. Is there any error message?
Then you can simply copy the files to a location outside W: and Boxcryptor will decrypt them automatically.

Yes, tried that. Looks like I lost all the files, can not decrypt.
