  • How to switch off "Some files are not available on this Mac"

Boxcryptor often shows a notification stating "Some files are not available on this Mac". How can I switch that off? It's annoying and of no use for me. Why do I get these notifications? I expect to get notifications only in situations where I might need to do something. What am i supposed to do when this one pops up?

For now I have disabled all notifications from Boxcryptor, but I consider that a workaround, not a solution.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your message.

The message says that the data is not available locally, which is necessary for Boxcryptor.
Check if there is a small cloud in the files, then they are "online only",have a look here please:
    https://www.boxcryptor.com/en/help/manage-cloud-providers-and-locations/macos/#icloud

Unfortunately you can't turn off the individual notification, but I was happy to include the idea on our productboard. (Unfortunately, I cannot say when and if we can implement this)

    Best regards,

    Kim

This would really be nice to have. I only encrypt certain folders, and Boxcryptor should not be concerned about the other folders. I literally have 8 notifications in under 10 minutes which is pretty annoying.
Can Boxcryptor be enabled for a subfolder only?
Can Boxcryptor only provide this notification for encrypted files (.bc) ?
      Thanks

I was quite annoyed by this "feature". I found a way around it: in System Preferences, you can stop any notification coming from Boxcryptor. Since I have done that, finally, I can concentrate on my work and not on the constant popups from Boxcryptor!
