Can't run Quicken from local (X:) OneDrive Boxcryptor directory

I've created an encrypted OneDrive folder where I've stored my Quicken(2005!) data files and a couple of Excel spreadsheet files. (I know this isn't recommended because of possible data corruption, but I have good backups!) I can see those files (unencrypted) under Boxcryptor (X:) > OneDrive > Documents. I gather these files are stored locally and decrypted "on the fly". I can bring up the spreadsheet files without any problem, but I get the unhelpful error message (Cannot open file) when I try to open the main Quicken file.

I also have the same Quicken data files stored encrypted locally in a Veracrypt container file and can open them with no problems. WOULD ANYONE KNOW WHY QUICKEN CAN'T OPEN FILES STORED VIA BOXCRYPTOR?

Would using the "Mount as fixed drive" option possibly make it more likely that my Quicken data files can be properly read? I haven't tried this option yet since I'm afraid it might cause other problems. Thoughts?

Minor correction: I'm trying to run Quicken 2003, not Quicken 2005.

==> I've tried disconnecting from the internet and turning off Windows Defender, but I'm still getting the message "Can't open file" when I try to start Quicken. I find it strange that Quicken RUNS FINE WHEN DATA FILES ARE ENCRYPTED WITH VERACRYPT BUT NOT WITH BOXCRYPTOR. I'm wondering if anyone has, perhaps, seen a similar problem when trying to run other programs where files are stored under Boxcryptor? Wayne
