Folder Encryption

Would like to begin by apologizing for being so dense.

Have the personal edition. What I would like to do is create two encrypted folders. one for backing up my PC and the other for backing up my laptop. I don't want to encrypt the files within the folder just the folder that contains them.

I do that -- create the two folders and then begin dumping files in, but I cannot tell if the containing folder is encrypted. Please advise.

Additionally, my understanding is that I need to or rather for reasons of best practice need to encrypt the folder on my desktop before moving it to the cloud. In other words, should I encrypt the containing folder with VeraCrypt then move that folder to the cloud/Boxcryptor?

Hi,

when you encrypt a folder Boxcryptor encrypts all files in the folder and all new files added to the folder will automatically be encrypted if you use the Boxcryptor drive.
If you are using filename encryption the folders name will be encrypted as well.
I am not sure what I don't want to encrypt the files within the folder just the folder really means.
A folder is just a collection of files.
