+1 For me Its Boxcryptor or Cryptomator but without propper M1 integration or Spotlight integration both fall short of the answer I am looking for.

+1. It has been months now since Spotlight stopped working. i rely on search to find files so my system is basically useless. What is even more frustrating is Boxcryptor refuse to say when Spotlight might be restored or even if they are even working on a solution

Time passes, but no response, no statement, no change. I am frustrated and I won't wait any longer. My workflows are broken since months! It is time for an alternative, I am cancelling my subscription.

BTW it would be better to communicate with your users about the problems instead just to keep silent.

I agree with the previous post of crypty007. Please give us an update on the spotlight-support instead of keeping it silent. I'd like to know if there is a solution that is been worked on and an estimation of the timeline. As I moved all my documents into boxcryptor-protected spaces, that is a huge impact since months. I'd like to know if I can expect that feature returning in the future.

After this many months of no information re Spotlight in Big Sur - abandonment seems imminently mandatory.

And I've used Boxcryptor for several years!

Reading this thread and seeing no reply from the developers - not a good look on customer care.

For me, this is a productivity killer. If this functionality can't be restored I consider this product dead.

Hi everybody,

We did not jump in here because we simply had nothing new to contribute other that we are very sorry that Spotlight cannot be used with Boxcryptor at the moment due to compatibility issues introduced with a macOS update.

I can ensure you that we did not forgot about the missing Spotlight support and that we will bring it back. We will soon announce plans for the future of Boxcryptor on macOS - not requiring a kernel extension anymore and including Spotlight support.

Hi everybody
Did anyone try a workaround with locally syncing the decrypted data to a mirror folder which itself is indexed by spotlight?
My first tests with ChronoSync worked fine, didnt find any showstoppers so far.
Of course there are some drawbacks but as a temporary workaround it could do the job.

I've been checking this thread regularly and still no update. It would be good to provide an estimated timeline for this. I hope that the company is not focusing on enterprise customers at the expense of utility for the rest of us
