• Linux app not accepting 2fa codes. 2fa works on website though.

Just installed fresh copy of boxCryptor portable for linux 64 on MXLinux. Launched at terminal as readme file says. Asks for email [next], then password [next], then 2fa [auto accepts on 6th character entered]. 2fa fails every time. i made an account on Community here with different password just to leave this comment.

SOLVED: Free edition only lets maximum of 2 devices logged in with APP on total of all devices. I logged into my account on home page, killed all other active sessions, now zero LOGGED IN devices. The portable app of BoxCryptor logs in with 2fa instantly now. I will upgrade to paid plan now to avoid this in future.

      hi linuxcommander,

i am also a boxcryptor customer, who made some attempts with boxcryptor portable on linux (especially linux mint).

do you also have the problem that boxcryptor portable is very - very - slow on linux? it's pretty much not useable if you want to de-/encrypt files over 500 MB, because it takes ages to do so.

do you have a better experience with boxcryptor portable?

      thanks for sharing!

        Hi linuxcommander,

Thank you for your feedback. We have improved the handling if the maximum number of devices has already been connected when using 2FA so that users properly know why it is failing.

        Best regards,
        Robert
