First, a brief introduction. I am a generally_tech_literate physically disabled former I.T pro, which I say only to say I can generally follow complex tech instructions, et al, pretty capably.
That said, I need some help/tips on using this 'boxcryptor' with 'cloud' storage(in my case, Google Drive). I have always relied on local backups of documents, email, etc., but recently I lost a bunch of documents when I found out a flaw of some sort in my backup strategy resulted in me not adequately backing everything up. So, I decided maybe I should get over my general distrust of 'cloud storage' solutions and have been searching for a secure, usable option(free) in recent days. So, right now I'm looking at google drive and trying to see if I can make more secure use of it. Thus far, I've arrived here at boxcryptor, but I'm not really understanding clearly how to set it up. Can y'all pls help me understand how to set this up? I have seen a screen a couple of times when opening Encryptor telling me to select a (storage solution), but when I choose/DblClick Google Drive, the window seems to just go up to the top of the screen and be non-selectable). On a 3rd try, I thought maybe it was busy doing something, since I saw the hdd activity light flickering. After several minutes and no change, I gave up and closed it all. Will someone please walk me through how to set this up? I basically would like to (backup my files to google drive, but SECURELY!
