Hi there,
I'd like to be able to decrypt files I restored from my incremental backup.
Short version :
I pickup a .bc file from my backup, I copied pasted it in my local Boxcryptor folder (I thought my key would decrypt it) but I got this error message :
Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "myfile.bc" cannot be read or written.
(error code -36)
Detailed version :
My setup :
Cloud (kdrive) with 100% of my data (1To) encrypted with Boxcryptor.
Mac (local) 30% of my data localy.
NAS (self hosted) with 100% of my cloud's data sync on my NAS localy with a cron.
An incremental backup of the NAS's data on a hard drive, connected with USB on my NAS. (the main purpose is to go back in time of files version if needed).
Scenario : With the NAS online software, I picked up a .bc file version from 2 years ago from my incremental backup. I downloaded it on my Mac localy. I tried to decrypt it by copy paste it in my local Boxcryptor folder, expecting my personal key to decrypt it.
It's not.
Could you help me to understand how the key works, because it doesn't seem to behave like expected ^^
Thx guys !
