New installation of Boxcryptor hangs at first sign in

I just installed the latest Boxcryptor (v2.45.1655) on an M1 Max running Monterey. Boxcryptor starts up, but if I hit "sign in" it just hangs, and the only way to interact with it is to close it via Activity Monitor. I just get a spinning gray wheel in the sign in, nothing happens. It doesn't ask me for a username or password, nor does anything pop up in the Security & Privacy tab of my System Preferences.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

I am having this same issue - did you find any solution to this?

I have not found a solution as of yet, unfortunately. My files stored in boxcryptor remain locked up :/

Hi everybody,

Can you tell me which default browser you are using? If it is not Safari, please try to change your default browser to Safari and then try it again. Boxcryptor is using a macOS API for authentication which some browsers pretend to support but actually don't or only with buggy behavior.

Same problem here. Changing the default browser to Safari does not appear to help. Still stuck after "Sign In" with a spinning grey wheel.
I'm on an M1 Macbook Pro running macOS Monterey.

Did work finally. Needed a restart of the MacBook after setting the default browser to Safari. The login window popped up after the reboot and when I started Boxcryptor again.
