I use oneDrive for my boxcryptor location. I have a large group of files that I want to encrypt and backup to the cloud. I also do NOT want the folder with the backup files to replicate on the computer where boxcryptor has its location. I didn't find a very intuitive way to do this via the Boxcryptor client options or the help website.
I think I have a solution to this use case, but would like to know if there are any major issues with my method. So, I started by creating an encrypted "Incoming" folder in my Boxcryptor location. This location syncs with OneDrive. Then, I add files using the local Boxcryptor location and they are encrypted and uploaded to the OneDrive cloud. Then I go into the OneDrive website and move the files to a location that is not replicated back to my local machine.
Any issues with this? I did the above process and then downloaded the file from the OneDrive website, moved the file to my local Boxcryptor location, and the file was usable. However, I'm not sure if any of the recoverability depends on the FolderKey.bc file. I assume not since the docs say it's for inheritance, but thought I'd ask.
Is there a way to handle this use case in the client directly or is this round about way the only way currently?
Thanks in advance for your help.
