As a Dropbox & Boxcryptor user, I was initially hopeful that Boxcryptor being sold to Dropbox might be a plus. Then I read on the Dropbox blog, 'Dropbox to acquire Boxcryptor assets, bring end-to-end encryption to business users.' Really now, a business plan costs around $900. Hence, I would have to pay almost an extra $800 yearly to upgrade my Dropbox account to get the Boxcryptor end-to-end encryption.
No, that’s not happening, and I’m going to cancel my Dropbox account when it comes renewal time and move to a more economical and secure cloud option. How sad to see Boxcryptor go out with a whimper.
