Hi team - I must be missing something, but the instructions for migrating away from Boxcryptor don't seem to work for mac os 12 due to the way it is integrated. When I go to the central encrypted folder, the files are in the .bc format, and copying them to a new location obviously doesn't work because they're still encrypted and thus unopenable in the new location. Unlike my old windows setup, on macos my files only decrypt as I open each individual folder. Manually opening and copying each folder would be an absolute nightmare. Can anyone advise an alternative solution, or point me to where this has been resolved previously? Thanks so much, and happy everything..!

rascalrabble You're welcome, happy to help. Thats sounds strange. You are using iCloud Drive, right? Are you able to see all of your encrypted files in iCloud Drive? Two things you should give a try: Open your Boxcryptor preferences and go to “locations” than uncheck iCloud and check iCloud Drive (PC & Mac only) - then take a look at your Boxcryptor drive. If this doesn’t help, try the more complex way: (This way requires enough space on your Mac, that fits your space in iCloud Drive) Create a local folder on your Mac, like “My cloud files” Open your iCloud Drive (directly, as designed by Apple) Copy your encrypted folder / copy your encrypted folders Paste your folder or folders into your local folder Wait for iCloud Drive to download all of your encrypted files When all your files were successfully copied to your local folder, go to your Boxcryptor preferences —> Locations and uncheck all of your cloud providers. Click the plus button to add a custom cloud provider, instead of actually selecting a cloud provider, select your local folder. Check your Boxcryptor drive for your files 😊 Hope that helps.

Yes, now I can see it. Have you tried to copy your encrypted files from the Boxcryptor drive? If you copy files from the Boxcryptor drive, then they will be decrypted when you paste them.

Unfortunately when I go to the boxcryptor drive (rather than navigating through the integrated macos way i described above) it just shows the icloud folder and then... absolutely nothing within it. See screenshots...

that's why i'm so stumped - this is the way I would have done it on my old PC setup.

rascalrabble rascalrabble You're welcome. Yes, indeed. Most people see Cryptomator as an alternative to Boxcryptor (me too!). I have switched everything to Cryptomator since the beginning of January.

(Small hint: Cryptomator has no accounts, so something like Boxcryptor could not happen, that your account would be deleted)

Looks like that Boxcryptor tries to prevent to post the website from Cryptomator. Just search with Google for Cryptomator.
