Dropbox question

HI,

I just installed the free version of Boxcryptor on my MacBook Pro and my iPhone 8 Plus. I also have Dropbox on both devices. I have read the help pages but cannot find the answer to my (probably easy) question.

When I go to Finder on my Mac and click on Boxcryptor I see my Dropbox folder and I have created some encrypted folders/files there. But when I go to Dropbox on my iPhone and try to view/open any of the files I get the message "no preview available. All the files have .bc at the end of their names.

Is there a way to view/open my files in Dropbox on my iPhone? I am sure I am doing some simple wrong but I cannot figure it out. I also have the Dropbox desktop app on my Mac and I am unable to view/read any of the files I have there as well. I get the same error on the Dropbox webpage. The error message I keep getting is "this type of file (.bc) can't be viewed.

Can someone explain how to view/open these files in Dropbox?

Logan5 The use of "Boxcryptor" would not make sense if it was possible to view files from the level of the usual application "Dropbox". Where would the sense of encrypting data be if it could still be read (viewed)?

You can only access files on your phone with the Boxcryptor app. The encryption would absolutely make no sense at all if dropbox could still read the files to generate a preview.
