Is Boxcryptor service down?

Hi all,

I am trying to get all my files decrypted and I assume many of us do. But it just doesn't work 🙁 Can't make a decrypted copy. But also when I want to see folder content (so I can copy) it is not loading.

Is the service down because everyone does? Or is there something wrong on my side?

Are you running the newest version of Boxcryptor? Which Cloud provider you are going to decrypt?

I am using macOS 12.6.1 and Boxcryptor version 3.12. I use google drive a a cloud.

When I make an folder available offline (Google Drive) and copy it from the Boxcryptor mounted drive (so it is decrypted) to another location on my hard drive it works (now). But really slow. When I copy one separate directory with a couple of MB and not many files it already takes minutes.

This was never before so I made the assumption that it has to do with the overload maybe.

(I did not export my keys yet, but did not find a solution to decrypt everything faster).

Do you have a suggestion? Many thanks in advance!

Xander Hey Xander, sorry for my late reply. I didn’t noticed that I got an answer, because you did not mention me.

Now, to clarify you want to decrypt your files to move away from Boxcryptor, right? Boxcryptor sold their technologies to Dropbox, which is a well reason to leave Boxcryptor and use great alternatives like Cryptomator.

If so, you should try to download all your files directly from Google Drive by visiting the corresponding website. When your download is finished, unzip the archive and move it into a new folder you create. Then you mount the folder in Boxcryptor the same way as you would add another cloud storage provider. This will cause that you can access all the files in the local folder and there you either decrypt by using the right-click menu or to simply copy all the files to your designated folder.
